DA Reports Trooper Did Not Use Excessive Force No Charges Filed

(Carthage) – According to a release from Moore County District Attorney Maureen Krueger, after a review of the circumstances surrounding the use of a forced vehicle stop by North Carolina State Highway Patrol Sergeant J. Stahl on a vehicle driven by Shonquell Barrett June 29, 2018, it is concluded that the officer did not use excessive force and therefore no criminal charges will be filed against the officer.

Sandhills Repertory Theatre Presents “A Grand Night for Singing” January 18th-20th

In 1993, creative Broadway talents combined some of the most beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein songs from their hugely successful career and created “A Grand Night for Singing”. It was nominated for two Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and featured future Tony award winners. United Way Providing Walmart Cards For Those Impacted By Hurricanes

As a part of the continuing support for victims of Hurricanes Michael and Florence, United Way of North Carolina has received a generous gift from the Julius Peppers Hurricane Relief Fund through Foundation for the Carolinas. This gift of $100,000 will be used to purchase Walmart gift cards in $50 increments and distributed to United Ways in counties most highly impacted by Hurricane Florence.

The United Way of Moore County received 100 gift cards that will be distributed by the Sandhills Coalition for Human Care who is serving as the case management entity working directly with individuals and families. The cards are for purchases of basic care items, household goods, clothing, and food.
