Moore County Sheriff Neil Godfrey announced the arrest of a Lillington man for trafficking in opiates and fraudulently obtaining controlled-substances.
Between July 23, 2014 and October 19, 2016, Christopher Rainey Stanton obtained 51 prescriptions from 19 different health care providers. These prescriptions provided Stanton with eight dosage units of Suboxone, 278 dosage units of Hydrocodone and 5,424 dosage units of Oxycodone. Oxycodone, Suboxone and Hydrocodone are opioid narcotics which are listed as schedule II controlled-substances.

Stanton was arrested and charged with: obtaining a controlled-substance by misrepresentation and withholding information from a health care provider, trafficking opiates and felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Stanton was released on a $5,000 unsecure bond with a February 28, 2017 Moore County District Court date.
