A road rage incident led to the arrest of an Aberdeen man Wednesday afternoon by the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities were notified when a caller placed a call to the 911 center about a reported road rage incident that had escalated to the point of one person firing a handgun into the air from a moving vehicle on US Highway 15-501 south of Aberdeen near the intersection with Pinebluff Lake Road.
According to Moore County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Frank Rodriguez, the caller was able to give 911 dispatchers the tag number and a description of the vehicle as well as the road the driver who had fired the gun had turned onto allowing officers with the Pinebluff Police Department and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department to quickly locate and arrest the man.
55 year old Ralph Douglas Currie Jr from a Flatrock Road Aberdeen address was charged with Go Armed To The Terror Of The Public and Communicating Threats.
Currie was taken before a Magistrate where he was given a $2000.00 unsecure bond pending his appearance in court.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
