Shirley Honeycutt Jones, 82 of Bennett, NC passed away after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Ray Jones, parents; Floyd and Estelle Honeycutt, brother Jimmy Honeycutt, son; Steve Jones, grandson; Christian Lee, great grandsons; Kelly and Mitchell Modery.
She is survived by her sister JoAnn Jones of Bear Creek, daughter; LouAnn Lee (Tom) of Sanford, granddaughter; August Sutphin of Bennett, grandsons; Brennan Binkley (Edie) of Fayetteville, Forrest Baringer-Jones of San Francisco, CA, and Robert Lee of Holly Springs, NC, great-grandsons; Steven Sutphin, Jacob Hinson and Brock Binkley, great-granddaughters; Madeline and Bennett Binkley.
She was a member of Bennett Baptist Church and a long-time clerk at Bennett Post Office. She loved fishing, working in her yard, cooking and reading.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday December 23, 2017, at Bennett Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Strider and John Phillips presiding. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the church’s fellowship hall.
