Sheriff Neil Godfrey announced the arrest of a Sanford woman for Trafficking in Methamphetamine.
On October 12, 2017, following a drug investigation in Moore and Lee Counties, Moore County deputies along with other Law Enforcement Agencies, stopped a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro on NC Highway 705 near Robbins, North Carolina.
During the search of the vehicle deputies seized approximately two pounds of crystal methamphetamine. As a result of the traffic stop, the investigation led Lee County Sheriff’s Office to execute a search warrant of 1811 Hart Drive in Sanford. During the search of the 1811 Hart Drive residence, deputies seized an additional 69 grams of cocaine and 20 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The total street value of all seized drugs is approximately $26,000.00.

Nancy Buitron was charged with: trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine and felony maintaining of a vehicle for the storage of a controlled-substance.
Buitron was placed in the Moore County Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond and given an October 24, 2017 District Court date.
The joint operation involved: Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Southern Pines Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
