Michael Sean Murphy, 51, died Tuesday in an automobile accident.
A resident of Pinehurst, Michael was born October 25, 1965, in Heidelberg, Germany while his family was stationed there. Michael graduated from St. Rita School for the Deaf in Cincinnati and earned an associate degree at Sandhills Community College. He also attended Gallaudet University. Michael was a talented artist and loved everything about science and space. A highlight was traveling to South Carolina in August to view the total eclipse.
Michael is survived by his father, John Murphy of Columbus, Ohio; his mother and step-father, Lynette and David Crosby of Pinehurst, his sister Catherine Murphy of Southern Pines, step-brothers Mike and Mark Crosby (Sharon), step-sisters Julie McNees (Thomas) and Rene Smith (Jay), Ryan and Tatiana Crosby, loving and special aunts, Sally Albertazzie, Mary Ann Shaw (Jerry), Susie Feldt, and Sally Leubin (John). Michael had many loving cousins who were so important in his life. Michael’s most special friends, Jazzie and Bodie, will miss him every minute.
