Aberdeen Police arrested a 75 year old local man for allegedly embezzling from a nonprofit organization that he was the President.
According to officials Kenneth Alexander Rahal from Aberdeen was arrested Wednesday evening at his home on 7 warrants for arrest related to the embezzlement of funds from Sandhills Student Assistance a nonprofit organization based in Southern Pines.
The embezzlement remains under investigation as officials work to determine the exact amount of money that was misappropriated.
Rahal was transported to a magistrate in Carthage where he was given a $10,000.00 unsecured bond. His first scheduled date in court is on October 10, 2017
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
