The Hoke County Sheriff Office; Sheriff Hubert A. Peterkin announces on May 1, 2017 Hoke County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a child abduction call.

The victim stated that the suspect had taken her son from her after a verbal altercation. The investigation revealed that the juvenile victim was taken to Robeson County by the suspect and abandoned at an unoccupied residence of a biological maternal family member in Lumberton.

The juvenile victim was located and reunited with his mother at the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators applied for and received arrest warrants for both suspects. Both suspects were taken into custody. Suspect Julisha Nicole Hemingway is pending extradition from South Carolina.
