A man reported to be in his mid-fifties was airlifted to a Trauma Center Thursday after a two vehicle collision near the Moore County and Montgomery County line.
Emergency responders were called out just before 11:00 am to reports of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of NC 24/27 and Tarry Church Road involving a Toyota Tundra pickup and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
One person was transported from the scene by ambulance to meet a helicopter that was landed in a field located on Tarry Church Road for transport to a Trauma Center. A second man was transported from the scene by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with injuries reported as not life-threatening.
One lane of NC 24/27 was blocked by the accident and emergency responders causing a brief slowdown for drivers passing through the area at the time of the accident.
Responding to this wreck were units with Eagle Springs Fire Department, Robbins Fire & Rescue, Seven Lakes Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation as of this report.
