Become A Volunteer Tutor And Make A Difference In The Life Of An Adult!
The Moore County Literacy Council is a community-based adult education organization that provides free basic literacy, English as a Second Language, and GED instruction to adults throughout Moore County. We train volunteers to work with adults one-to-one to help them reach their educational goals. Volunteers do not need any teaching experience in order to be trained as a tutor.
The Moore County Literacy Council will be offering a twelve-hour workshop for volunteers who would like to become adult tutors. Volunteers are required to attend an orientation prior to tutor training. All sessions will be held at the Read Moore Center, 575 SE Broad Street (Suite 10) in Southern Pines, NC.
Orientation:
August 23rd from 1:00-2:00
Tutor Training Sessions:
August 29th, 31st, Sept. 5th and 7th from 1:00-4:00
