A 15 year old was hit by a car while crossing the road on a bicycle in Pinehurst Friday afternoon.
Emergency responders were called to the intersection of NC 211 and Gun Club Drive at 3:55pm.
Police officials stated a passenger car ran a red light and struck the teen who was transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst with non-life threatening injuries.
According to traffic investigators the young man was crossing NC 211 with traffic using the bike crossing from Gun Club Drive to Rattlesnake Trail when the accident occurred.
The driver of the passenger car was reportedly cited for failing to stop at the stop light.
Responding to this incident were units with Pinehurst Fire Department, Moore County EMS, and the Pinehurst Police Department.
