George Guthrie Hearne, 66 of Vass, passed away on June 27, 2017 at Kingswood Nursing Home in Aberdeen.

Born on February 2, 1951 in Moore County to the late Henry and Mary Catherine Hearne.

George worked and retired from Aro-Ingersoll Rand Company. He was a gun enthusiast and loved riding his four- wheeler. He was such a people person, who loved talking and making friends with everyone he met. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Reece Blair Hearne.

He is survived by three children, Paul Hearne (Robin), Karen Snyder (Robby) and Ryan Hearne (Lois); two brothers, Robert Hearne and Herbert Hearne; one sister, Edna May White; also survived by 5 grandchildren, Kaci, Taylor, Matthew, Reece and Aubrey.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 3:00PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Karen’s home following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations for George’s funeral expenses can be made to Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
