Ms. Tammy Calcutt Kujawski passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017, at her home in Southern Pines at the age of 57.
Tammy was born on December 27, 1959. She graduated from Pinecrest High School in 1977, and continued her education at UNC Pembroke where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Music Education.
Services to celebrate Tammy’s life will be held Sunday June 25 at Deep Creek Baptist Church in Pinehurst, beginning with a family visitation at 1 pm and funeral services to follow at 2:30. Tammy will be laid to rest in Bethesda Cemetery in Aberdeen, next to her beloved parents.
Tammy was preceded in death by her parents Johnsie and Willis Calcutt.
She is survived by 2 sons, Richard Kujawski, fiancé Jacquelyn Jenkins, and her beloved granddaughter Sophie. Patrick Kujawski, wife Candice. Three brothers Rodney Calcutt, wife Melanie, of South Carolina, Randy Calcutt, wife Robin and Chris Calcutt of Southern Pines. Tammy also had many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
As a child, much of her time was spent in churches alongside her brothers, performing gospel music where she was part of a quartet known as ‘Glimpse of Glory.’ Besides singing and playing the piano, she also played the organ and the flute. A lot of other memories were shared on baseball fields, near and far. She was taught to keep the scorebook from her mother, Johnsie- and she absolutely loved doing it. Tammy was very involved in the community- she coached cheerleading, was a member of the Moore County Choral Society, played the piano and organ in several churches. She was always so grateful for the many lives she was able to be a part of, as she always hoped everyone knew how much they had all touched her life. Even though she left this earth too soon, we will all meet again soon.
Tammy was a kind, and gentle soul. She loved her family, music and sports.
