One person was airlifted after a single vehicle accident where a passenger car drove into the side of a bank building Wednesday afternoon in Aberdeen.
Emergency responders were dispatched around 5:00 pm to Fidelity Bank on Johnson Street off of US 15-501 to reports of a vehicle striking the bank building.
According to officials at the scene after being freed from the vehicle the elderly woman was transported by ambulance to meet a helicopter that was waiting at the Aberdeen Fire Department on NC Highway 211 to transport her to a Trauma Center for treatment.
Johnson Street was briefly closed to traffic while officials assisted the injured woman and cleared the debris from the accident.
Responding were units with Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Aberdeen Police Department.
The accident remained under investigation by the Aberdeen Police Department as of this report.
