Michael L. Wylie, 63, of Aberdeen, passed away at the FirstHealth Hospice House on Friday, March 29th.

He was born in Langley, Virginia on May 9th, 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Gladys Smith Wylie, and sister, Jana K. Wylie.

Mike was raised in Southern Pines where he developed a love of horses as a young man and rode in steeplechase races. He moved to Florida where he broke and trained race horses. Later, he returned to North Carolina where he opened Wylie’s Golf Carts, on Hwy 211 in West End, with his sister Jan.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Paige Burch (Jacob) of Southern Pines. He was the brother of Lisa Keith (Al McDonald) of Aberdeen, Mitch Wylie (Lina) of Seven Lakes, Patti Waddell (Roger) of Southern Pines and brother-in-law David Keith of Cameron. He was a beloved son, brother and father and will be missed by his family and friends.

A small family service is being planned for a later date.
