A two-car collision between a a Nissan Versa and a Chevrolet Malibu injured three people and caused one of the vehicles to catch on fire Thursday morning outside of Aberdeen.
Emergency responders were dispatched around 10:30 am to a vehicle accident on US Highway 15-501 at the intersection of Stubby Oaks Road with one vehicle reportedly on fire.
According to fire officials at the scene by-standers who had come upon the accident prior to emergency units had used fire extinguishers to mostly contain the fire burning the front of the Nissan Versa.
Three people were transported by ambulance to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital by ambulance with injuries reported as not life-threatening.
One lane of US Highway 15-501 was temporarily blocked by the accident causing delays for drivers traveling in both directions.
Responding to this accident were units with Pinebluff Fire Department, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the NC State Highway Patrol.
The accident remained under investigation by the NC State Highway Patrol as of this report.
